Workplace Health: Asthma

Workplace Asthma is well documented and can be a common illness among industrial workers. One of the key ways that employers can prevent this is by providing good extraction in order to reduce the presence of agents that can cause respiratory problems.

Since the beginning of the industrial age with match girls in Britain and factory workers across the world there has been a need to ventilate and protect employees from debilitating respiratory conditions caused by dust and fume extraction.

Case histories from the turn of the last century make for grim reading and unfortunately so do some of ones from the turn of this century. But as our technological advances improve, develop and dominate our world, perhaps before considering the values of production companies should focus rather on the means with which to protect their workforce.
